Aim & Theme

Modern Railways 2005 aims at displaying in an all-round way the world’s latest railway technologies and equipment and popularizing comprehensively the leap-forward development on the Chinese railways. So the theme of the exhibition falls into two categories. One is to display the world’s advanced railway technologies and equipment, and the other, to show the achievements of the leap-forward development on the Chinese railways.

Manufacturers and suppliers both at home and abroad are welcome to display the world’s latest technologies and equipment centering on the need to rapidly upgrade the Chinese railway technology and equipment and construct a developed railway network. Priorities should be given to fields on passenger dedicated lines, heavy-haul railways, railway safety and informationization as well as the need of equipment modernization.

Modern Railways 2005 will also be a showcase of the major achievements on the leap-forward development on the Chinese railways, specifically on passenger-dedicated lines, speed enhancement, heavy-haul railway, Qinghai-Tibet Railway and railway informationization, popularizing the blueprint of the leap-forward development and affording the opportunity for extensive international cooperation with the emphasis on “Mid- and Long-Term Program on Railway Network” and focus on the implementation of leap-forward development strategy.
