Modern Railways 2017 focuses on the exhibition of the innovation result in the
field of transportation safety, operation and management, and engineering
construction, as well as the technology and equipment.
With
its debut in 1992, MODERN RAILWAYS has been staged for 13 editions, growing to
be the largest and most notable railway industry exhibition in Asia. More and

the servers of the technology innovation of China Railway and the policy of China Railway Going Global, Modern
Railways 2017 is going to be held at Shanghai Exhibition Center on October
26-29, to display the achievement of China railway in the field of Railway

the end of 2016, China had an operating railway length of 124,000 km across the
nation, of which 22,000 km was high speed railway, making up 60% of the world’s
total, and ranking No. 1 globally. By 2020, China will have 30,000 km of HSR,
covering over 80% of its major cities nationwide. Investment in the country’s
railway construction had maintained RMB 800 billion annually for 3 consecutive
years. Between 2016 and 2020, fixed asset investment in the Chinese railway is
expected to total RMB 3,500 billion up to RMB 3,800 billion.

Ltd. is a subsidiary company attached to the China World Trade Center Co.,
Ltd., which is wholly self-funded. It is a standing director unit of China
Association for Exhibition Centers, a member of the Union of International
Fairs (UFI), a member unit of the National Exhibition Standardization
Committee, as well as the president unit of China Coffee Association Beijing.

Established
with the approval of Shanghai Municipal People's Government, SEC is an economic
entity specializing in offering large-scale conference and exhibition services.
With its buildings completed in March 1955, SEC is the first ever site for
conference and exhibition after the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Over the past five decades or so, SEC has been the venue for quite a number of
important political events and foreign affairs, where CCP leaders of the first,
second and the third generation arrived to attend meetings and to meet scores
of heads of states from foreign countries. SEC boasts the host to a great many
successful international and domestic conferences, exhibitions, and commercial
promotion activities. . SEC is a center for important political, economic, science
& technology and cultural activities. Architecturally, SEC is blessed with
a unique characteristic. With its magnificent and elegant Russian styles and
exquisitely graceful decorations, SEC was awarded in 1989 the title of one of
the "Shanghai Ten Best Architectures in the period of 1949-1989". In

West Hall, No.2 West Hall, the southern part forms an exhibition area,
Friendship Hall together with No.2 East Hall in the north is designated as the
conference area. SEC is an ideal venue for conference, exhibition and
large-scale event in Shanghai.
MODERN
RAILWAYS 2016, jointly approved by Ministry of Commerce, P. R. China and CHINA
RAILWAY and organized by China Academy of Railway Sciences (CARS) and China
World Trade Center Co., Ltd. (CWTC), was held at China International Exhibition
Center, Beijing, between the 20th and 22nd of June 2016, with satisfactory
results to showcase both foreign and domestic railway technology equipment, and
to establish a platform for railway technological exchanges and cooperation. As
the only international exhibition for China railway technology and equipment
approved by CHINA RAILWAY, MODERN RAILWAYS has been growing in scale and
quality since 1992, with increasing numbers of both exhibitors and trade
visitors. It is not only a leading railway show in Asia, but also well known
worldwide, playing a positive role in strengthening international cooperation,
promoting China’s railway modernization drive and achieving high-speed
development for the Chinese railway sciences.
